Episode 9 – Is Technique Really That Important

The way you establish a musical technique from the outset will help you greatly achieve your ‘Dream Musical Sound’. Developing a sensitive sense of hearing and touch, or simply learning to play with curved fingers on the piano for example, will promote greater flexibility and dexterity when challenging musical passages come along. Technique is imperative as it allows great musical flow, more fluent phrasings and expression qualities, as well as more accurate rhythms. From the first days of musical education, technique should be included and recognized as your musical learning progresses from week to week.
